Here is our line up for Thursday, April 2nd!
MUSIC
Michael Howard is a songwriter born and raised in the wilds of Alaska. Spinning “stand-out folk songs” Michael brings energy, passion, and a “fierceness in his music” to each of his performances (Anchorage PRESS). He is currently touring in support of his second-full length album “The Martyr and the Magician” which includes tracks produced by Jacob Winik (The Magnetic Fields, Pomplamoose, Samantha Crain). Michael creates, “Catchy instrumentation… that is stripped down and melodic, he takes you on a lyrical journey across the US in search of something that likely no longer exists, a picture of nostalgia drawn in words and chords”. Michael was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Mountain Stage NewSong competition (2014). In his short career Michael has shared the stage with talented songwriters including Jeffrey Martin, J Wagner, and John Craigie. Listen here.STORY
Kevin D’Ambrosio grew up on the northshore of Massachusetts. He found some gray in his beard recently, so you could say he’s been in Chicago for a while. One might say that he sort of grew up here too, though. At the turn of century he studied at iO Chicago and Annoyance Theater. Then he found a home at Piven Theatre where he helped to create a theatre games class for adults with developmental disabilities. A few years ago, Kevin left teaching and launched himself back into performing in theatre, voiceovers, indie films, and as a storyteller. He is quite excited to be part of The Bucket Show. He has performed at Tenx9, Here Chicago, and Tell It from the Heart. On the other side of his life Kevin works in construction management. Unfortunately, he is unable to help you construct a building, but he can point you in the right direction. Kevin is co-host/co-producer at Second City’s, Sunday Morning Stories and will be a host with Do Not Submit.STORY
Steven Gomez arrived in Chicago this winter after 10 years in Seattle, WA. There, Steven co-founded the Seattle improv group Wonderland, danced with GENDER TENDER and Salt Horse, and performed his theatrical storytelling solo show Drawn Dead at the 2013 Seattle Fringe Festival… which may or may not be coming to a Chicago stage near you this fall! He looks forward to sharing stories and is open to any leads on finding his missing clown nose.IMPROV
Risky on the Rocks is a sketch & improv group (Ryan Nallen and Jamie Burns) who put their relationship on the line every time they step on stage. As always, Jack & The Wolf will host and perform.
