BUCKET SHOW – MARCH 5
The whole village is talking about Thursday!
Twin Cities song and dance man, Benny K, plays to the folk heart of the north. He began his craft in the pop-punk scene of south-eastern Wisconsin. From there, he grew out his repertoire and began a solo act, featuring chunky punk guitar licks propping up a rock-a-billy croon. His lyrics melt working-class heart-break with flower child hope, bubbling up into an energetic live show that keeps the audience entangled.
Lindsay Williams has lived in Chicago for almost 11 years doing improv and comedy and has somehow developed a Chicago accent despite spending 24 years in Texas. She trained at iO and Second City, was part of the long running 2-person improv show Williams & Martinez, iO team Roaster, and several Playground teams. She’s now on the Playground house team Cop Squad and performs solo shows around the city at Chicago Sketchfest, the Women’s Funny Festival, and many different theaters. If you enjoy horrible dating stories, awkward situations, and tales of a dysfunctional family then you are in luck my friend.Sarah Bunger grew up in one of the smallest towns imaginable outside of Dayton, Ohio (think: flashing caution light, a gas station/Subway sandwich shop, and lots and lots of cows). Since moving to the big city seven years ago, she is adjusting to the long winters and nearly complete lack of cows. She teaches English to sophomores and seniors, relishing every minute she gets to re-experience Holden Caulfield, Blanche Dubois, and Nick Carraway. (But not those boys from Lord of the Flies. Because, gross). She has told stories at Solo Theatre, Story Lab, Truth or Lie Reading Series, and she is the most recent Moth Grand Slam Story Champion. She hopes to tell more stories in 2015 and beyond.IMPROV byJack & The WolfBrunchChris Tucker (the improv group)LOCATIONUncommon Ground3800 N.
